Custom Model Troubles

My friend and I were attempting to combine Ike models in order to make our own take on pre-existing costumes for our personal builds. I was attempting to combine Theytah's Hollowed Hero with Hector Armor Ike, and she was attempting to combine Cloud and Ike, but both models face the same issue - they don't move. Sort of. They move for a certain distance before stopping and hitting this "invisible wall". It's not an issue of stages, as I've tested it on multiple stages, only to face the same result.
Some other bugs I've noticed, outside of the lack of movement:
  • Activating the neutral attack causes the model to basically explode and fill the whole screen
  • Up-B doesn't move upwards, and the sword goes the wrong direction
Everything else seems to work fine outside of these three problems. What can I do to fix this?

EDIT: Make that four problems. I forgot that the eyes are always shut as well.

I can't offer much, but you could post this to the CustomSmash subreddit (and perhaps the Brawl Vault forums maybe) as well to gain just a little more exposure. And maybe list some of the troubleshooting you've already done. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! As far as troubleshooting, there's not much on that front I've been able to do, sadly. I'm not too experienced with model editing, it was only because of a Theytah tutorial that I even managed to do what I did.

It seems to be a bone problem. Compare the bones on your models, and compare them to the original Ike model.

Sometimes, when combining models, extra bones get added, which cause similar problems that you are describing.

Okay, bone issues were the problem. Her texture has missing bones, as well as some odd duplicates.

Thank you for the help, Nanobuds! I'll pass along the info to her so she can attempt to fix her model.

I'm running into more troubles with models, so I hope it's okay if I bump my thread again to get help with it - it's not the same issue as before, but it's moreso related to issues in BrawlBox. I can't seem to properly import things between models outside of Ike or Marth. I've tried two different Falcon models, two different Ganondorf models, and two different Link models. Ganondorf's issue I can seemingly understand, but with Falcon and Link I'm confused.

This happens with both Link and Falcon, and I'm not sure if it's an issue of mismatched bones or something else, but I felt it'd be better to ask here rather than blow off the issue entirely. The skeleton is YRotN when I import the existing object. Should I try a different one, or do some models just not play nice when imported?

(For clarification's sake, I've tried the same thing with another Falcon model, only to get the same result.)

Have you tried multiple version of BB? What settings do you use when you're merging objects?
I've only stuck with 0.76b, as that's what's worked for me the last two times I did this, and I keep all the settings default. Any merge stays on whatever shows up, and generally that ends up working for me.

Are you importing a .dae with edits?

Make sure the TopN is scaled to 1.0 for both models that you are merging.

I'm importing a .mdl0 file, is that the wrong type of file for what I'm trying to do? If it is, how would I go about getting a .dae and then scaling it?

Eh forget about the whole .dae thing.

Are the TopN bones scaled 1.0 X/Y/Z for both models?

Well, I tried 0.71, and got a different result.

I'm still not sure what's going on, but at least it's a different result than last time.

Try merging one object at a time, and not the whole model
