Smash Wii U Custom controls not being used.

I just got Smash 4 for the wii u today and im using gamecube controller. When I try switching my left shield trigger for with grab in control menu, its still acting like a shield trigger in my fights. I go back to check its saved and ya.. its there. Can someone help.

Are you using the name you get the controls to? Controls are set to individual names in this game I believe, so if the thing above your head just says P1 then you'll have default controls.

Possibly buy a new controller? I've never seen or heard of this problem ever occurring before.

Hmmm.. odd.

Make sure you pressed the save button on your way out of that control menu. Seen that happen a few times. (Though looks like you tested this already?)

The profile may be bugged? Maybe put a test name in and see if you can make it happen?

Just making sure... it is using default controls? This isn't a case of controller inputs being rejected all together?

Are you using the name you selected? If the answer is no, the controls will stay the same.
