Custom Characters - Traveling to other Wii Us

I been reading lots on Smash 4 and was wondering if its possible to take my customized character with me on the 3ds or Wii U?

Please do not reply with "Wait until that character is unlocked on the other Wii U".

I'm interested to see if characters can move around on the Wii Remotes or the 3ds.

If the character is unlocked on both versions it's possible. A custom character can't be stored on a Wiimote so you have to do the normal transferring process

While you can transfer your customizations onto the 3DS, you won't be allowed to modify them outside of their game origin. Also, I don't think that transferred customizations can be transferred even further.

I thought as much. Your customs pretty much have to originate from Smash 3DS if you want to use them with multiple Smash Wii U copies.

That is super unfortunate. Maybe Nintendo could add an update that would allow it?

Or maybe the option to save characters on to an SD card and transport them that way? That would be even better.
