I got banned for saying this exactly after someone said on an Ike post

"Ike is so broken with his power"

I replied something along the lines of

"Ike is not broken lol"

And got points for a ban or something (not an actual ban)

under the notion that I was spamming.

I'm just curious why exactly this went to be and how I could avoid this in the future since it didn't feel like spamming to me.

If you have any questions about your infraction or about what constitutes spamming, you are absolutely welcome to respond to the infraction PM that you received notifying you of the points. You can also post in the section called "Forum Disputes" and state the problem and it will be addressed by a senior moderator, as they (administrators, etc.) are the only ones who can see or respond to forum disputes.

Just hearsay, but I assume that the discussion of "ike is broken, no he's not broken" was so simplistic and without explanation that it just took up space and didn't answer any question or provoke any discussion.

As long as you don't spam constantly or break any major rules then you don't have to worry about being banned. Almost everyone gets points now and then, and most points expire over time. :)
