CRTs and hot cars

I bought a CRT for $5. It's a pretty small TV, but I'm only renting out a room and it's pretty much full up as is. Seeing as I bought it to bring to tourneys, can I just keep it in my car's trunk? My car is usually kept in direct sunlight, and it gets pretty hot. Will it damage the TV? Will it make the TV blow up?

Depends on the heat it should be fine if it's under 95, you should also put a cover on It like a blanket to keep it from direct sunlight it's what I do and I stay in cali and no problems yet

No it won't blow up lol but it could get damaged if placed in direct sunlight

Thanks for the reply! The TV itself isn't going to be in direct sunlight, but the car (and by extension, the trunk) is. The only major concern I have is the Georgia heat, it regularly gets over 100 degrees outside of the hot metal box that is my car. When I get in, I have to roll the windows down and run the AC for a few minutes before I can touch the steering wheel. If by "under 95", you mean Celsius, it's all good. If 96 F is no good, then imma have to work something else out.

Celsius definitely usually the tv parts get 40-80 degrees Celsius when they are working... But don't quote me on that

"Regularly" over a hundred is a bit of a stretch for Georgia heat.

Nevertheless, it should be fine. You'd be amazed how much cooler things are when they're not exposed to direct sunlight.

The *reason* it's so hot inside your car is that it's bathed in sunlight. The trunk is not. You could touch anything inside your trunk after a day in the sun and you'd be just fine.
