Hey I decided to start a new thread about my Falco game cause the old one had terrible videos and decided to start fresh. I'm not the best Falco out there who asks for critiquing but someday I want to be one of the better players on the Falco board so please be as detailed as possible when giving advice and don't worry about being harsh. I need as much help as I can get. =D

Thanks in advance. (Don't forget to watch the videos in high def.)

your opponent doesnt seem so bright. You seem to have some ackward pauses in your play and you used side b a little much in the first vid I think. Also you do charge smashes trying to guess that they will fall into it but you end up getting punished for it, only use a smash with falco when you have a really sure chance of hitting not just as a guessing game. So try to make your game flow more smoothly, play better people, side b is nice but it will become predictable with good players,

It's kind of hard to say too much. It seemed like your opponents were a good bit worse than you.

Random thoughts - at least twice, you jumped off the edge for no good reason and needed to recover with firebird (the guy failed at edgehogging you once and succeeded once, making a match close which shouldn't have been).

You know your stuff technically, though some shdls do go too high.

You spend some time charging smashes at nothing, but your opponents walk (or roll, or glide) into them a lot, so it works. But it shouldn't. I suggest that to improve, the first thing you should do is play better people, because I think that some things which are bad habits (charging smashes in the hope that your opponent walks into them) are being reinforced because they're working. Perhaps you're just being that awesome at predicting your opponents, but regardless, even if it is leet prediction skillz that's not something that you'll be able to rely on once you go up to better competition.

Or maybe that's because it's wifi, that your opponents just walk into things?

Regardless, starting on one particular video, lets say video #3 -
0:02 - you whiffed completely with a shine. That move has a lot of lag. You didn't get punished for it.
0:07 - you go onto the edge without a reason. That can be dangerous... but MK doesn't shield the phantasm.
0:08 - you do an ftilt followed by an utilt... but on the video, just look at how far above you MK was when you did that ftilt! Whydja do it? Even if he wanted to, he couldn't have fast-falled into it, he was too far. You get hit after a missed utilt.

...ok, so going through like that isn't going to be too useful, I don't think. Both you and your opponent make lots of attacks that don't connect or are mis-spaced.

To me, it seems like there's a lot of random throwing out of attacks, including unsafe ones. I'm not a good player myself at all, you'd probably beat me, but watching your videos reminded me a lot of the last two paragraphs from this thread:

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=160643

The majority of youtube brawl videos I see look more like turnbased RPGs than smash brothers. One person attacks, then another person immediately approaches and attacks, and on and on. You need to be able to have enough control over your game that you can prevent yourself from immediately executing a command. This is why rolling works so well against so many players. Players are unable to pause even for a moment in their flurry of attacks and movements.
That flurry of attacks and movements is I think what I see in your videos, though, again, since you were winning most of them handily and probably playing better than me, perhaps my comments are misplaced.

So yeah, my suggestions - play better people and play them offline. Then you'll punished more mistakes you make, and you'll probably see them yourself and see what the next steps you need to take are.

Oh, and don't get hit.

You're pretty good, but still, you need to fight better people, ya might wanna try coms rather than some of those players (no offense man).

Although you had no need to in most of these vids, More side dodges! >.> No seriously In the vid's I watched (only 2 I'd admit) there was barely- to no rolling.
-I prefer the red falco to, If ya want to I'll play ya online, I'm in texas, pm me if ya want to.
