Sorry if this is in the wrong spot but if anyone could do this, it would be you guys. I recently saw that MUGEN, a "create your own fighting game" (street fighter style) still exists. Pretty much any traditional fighter can be created / recreated with this and it got me thinking... Could a "create your own smash game" be done?

It could be like an open Rivals of Aether game. Sprites are alllll over the internet so the resources are there if an engine was up. The smash game genre, especially competitive smash is waayyy smaller than it should be and this could get it to more people and possibly get more people into project m, melee or latest smash

some things to consider though,

-Would you even want it? Maybe people would just stick with creating stuff for pm
-Maybe it would be spreading the community apart when in should be coming together?
-Maybe it could ruin meta game because there would be a million games out with different versions of the same character?

Just some thoughts and hoping to get some opinions from the community.

This could be done. It would need a lot of work though. I mean you could put together ANY set of mods you can find in brawlvault already, and then you have a crazy mixture of different characters in brawl, but it will be limited. You cant have like 100 characters based on soundbank limitations)

I'd love to see this happen in a professional way though the way project m is. A lot of the mods in the vault, though really cool, are needing a lot of polishing. I duno how everyone else is about playing a game, but i cant play with stuff that isnt super crisp looking. It kinda takes me out of the experience. If an awesome team got together to do this it would be so great.
