It's important to learn the basics before going on to advanced techniques. For example, it's obviously more important to learn how to DD grab than it is to learn how to shield drop. I always tell myself what techniques are immediately important to learn and which ones to wait to learn. So which of these do y'all think is more important to learn than the other if you were to rank them.

DDing
WDing
JC grab
SHFFLing
SH double fair
SHDF L cancel
Proper sideB recovery
OOS options
Frame perfect WD from ledge
Shield Breaker LH ledgegrab
Uair LH ledgegrab
Uair control under platforms
Spacies chain grab
Knowing your basic matchup knowledge
Pivoting
SH bair DJ
Basic edge guards
Dancing blade application
Tipper your attacks(spacing)

Feel free to add ones not listed. Im just looking for some consensus over what's important to learn first so I don't waste my time doing things that won't help if I still have huge holes in my game.

i pretty much agree with everything said although spacing in my opinion is numero uno although you cant really learn it unless your already pretty good at DDing, WDing, and shfflling. also side be recovery and wave dahs up ledge is pretty important cause if your not good at recovering you get shinespiked soo easily.

Don't forget about ledge teching after your up b. Both neutral techs and tech-jump bairs.

1. Edge guarding- Definitely first because this is one of Marth's strongest applications. Think about it, would you rather be able to do perfectly consistent shield drops and Shield Breaker LH ledgegrabs, or perfect edgeguards?
2. DDing + WDing- Again, very strong, also very scary if used correctly. WDing would normally be lower on the list, but it kind of goes hand and hand with DDing, so sure, 2nd place as well.
3. SHFFLing- This is very important to learn! if well controlled, you can vary your attacks, the timing of those attacks and the spacing (which leads me to number 4), these components combined let you safely approach and retreat.

-These three things above are what I consider to be the fundamental Marth meta.
4. Spacing- Keep away! Marth's range is one of the best in the game! Take advantage of that!
5. Recovery + Proper Side B recovery- Marth is a nuisance when it comes to edgeguarding; make him a nuisance coming back too.
6. Spacies chain grab + u-air pressure- Duh....
7. SH double fair- Amazing move! It baits attacks, its safe, and it combos like mess.
8. JC Grabs- General Marth MU knowledge for other characters is to punish missed grabs; if you JC them, the window for a punish is greatly reduced, and you don't look like a scrub. Remember that not JCing your grabs will add a bit more range to them, use that wisely....
9. OOS Options- Very good to learn. Marth generally has troubles dealing with shield pressure, but some good options are (From shielding) WD~F-smash/F-tilt (good GTFO move), SH d-air, Let go of shield and counter (<-- use that one sparingly)
10. MU knowledge- Very good to know just in general. (This is where I usually falter :crying:)
11. WD from ledge- This doesn't have to be frame perfect, I'm sure I don't do it frame perfect every time, but I get lots of mileage from that move. Very good to know how to do, but not super necessary.
12. Dancing Blade- Very good for catching your enemies off guard, also really good for extending combos or getting grab opportunities. It also can sometimes be used as a kill move.
13-19. All of the other moves you mentioned fall under here. They are good to know but don't matter all that much.
-I will continue editing this when I find more time to do it.

Edgeguarding is #1, spacing is #2, and dash dancing is #3.

After that I don't think it matters what order you learn things, though L-Cancelling is constant and recovery should be learned early.
