CPU adapts to/learns from opponent?

I remember there was a discussion way back with Brawl about CPU's seemingly learning from players, which was proven untrue. However I've been playing some lvl 9 CPU's in Ultimate and it really feels like they anticipate and adapt to attacks or tactics that you use frequently during that match. Does anyone else feel like this is the case?
