Cover art starters

Ok, before anyone says ANYTHING.. i would like to clarify that there is absolutely no evidence of the roster appearing on the trial playable version of brawl is in fact the starting roster.. WHATSOEVER

Especially considering the roster was a little different from the Japanese trial version.. which throws that thought out the window entirely.


I think i have reached a believable and honest conclusion about some of the starters we will be seeing on the roster when we first chuck in our beloved brawl discs.

There has been a pattern in the last 2 games on the 64 and gamecube that seem logical to follow into this installment.. Sakurai would never DARE to reveal "UNLOCKABLE CHARACTERS" on the games COVER ART... RIGHT FELLAS!!?

Thats right... on the 64 console art we saw fox, mario, samus, pikachu.. and i think kirby.. ive forgotten honestly... and on melee i remember seeing mario, bowser and a heap of other starter characters... YES.

So this must logically point out that we will at least be seeing these characters in our starting roster:

-Pit
-Metaknight
-Pokemon Trainer
-Pikachu
-Fox
-Wario
-Samus
-Mario
-Kirby
-Link
-Peach

(alongside others of course)

Oh i stand corrected... so your saying you start off with 1 character in the starting roster?.. noob. Try keeping your brains from fallin out yer earholes k?

This has been discussed... but it seems unlikely, because it lacks such characters as Donkey Kong and Bowser, who most of us just assume are starters.

It's hard to believe any of this crap anymore.

It kind of makes sense, but why would they make DK and Yoshi unlockable? They've been starters in the past two games, so it makes no sense to hide them this time around.

OK I didnt actually mean "THE CHARACTERS ON THE COVER ARE THE ONLY STARTERS" I actually meant they are some of the few... just like on the cover of super smash brothers 64.. i believe YOSHI was missing from the cover...

All im saying is that im pretty positive Sakurai doesnt give away unlockables on the front cover like that.. they have to be in the starter roster at least

The easiest way to guess the starting roster is this list +common sense:


-Pit
-Metaknight
-Pokemon Trainer
-Pikachu
-Fox
-Wario
-Samus
-Mario
-Kirby
-Link
-Peach

Okay, that's 11 characters, now, let's kick this up a notch:

-Donkey Kong
-Yoshi

That's the remaining 64 Starters added to the roster.

-Zelda
-Bowser
-Ice Climbers

These are the remaining Melee Starters (Minus the two point five MIA starters being Ness, Falcon, and Shiek). The total of starters right now is 16. The first logical step from here would be Ike, then Diddy. This covers the first newcasts on the Dojo not on the cover, and adds in another Franchise that was obvious to be in the game (Ike).

18 is a fair Starting Roster. Dedede, Lucas (if Ness is gone), The Third Parties, and Olimar would make sense unlockable.

If we need more than 18, then the next step is Lucas and Olimar.
