Countering Crouch-Cancel

Ooh, alliteration.

To the topic at hand, what should I do to beat someone who crouch cancels? (in this case, Samus, but knowledge on Peach wouldn't hurt). My training partner mains Samus, and I feel helpless at times because no matter what I do he just crouch cancels it and down smashes or down tilts. I main Marth, and even though I've heard the matchup is in his favor I still have no idea what to do. Any advice is appreciated!

Either grab or space around dsmash/whatever it is he's doing after the cc. Specifically against Samus's cc dsmash try rising fairs; you'll be able to punish the dsmash with any aerial.

As Marth, you're grab and spaced attacks deal with it well.

Don't quote me on this but I think if you crouch and they attack first you can use your d-tilt because when you are in an attack animation you aren't crouch cancelling until it is over. But you want to mix it up and don't do the same thing every time to prevent getting read then punished.

I think the question is referring to the other person crouch cancelling while you're on the offensive.
