So I've recently been playing a lot of Kid Icarus: Uprising (amazing game, by the way), and one of the first things I noticed was how similar the interface in the menus is to Brawl. However, it's tweaked to have a more Greek theme, and is tailored for two screens. In case you are wondering why I am bringing Uprising's menu up like this, it's a Sakurai-developed game, and as a result, it took a lot of cues from Smash Bros, right down to the interface. For reference, here is Brawl's:
And here is Uprising's:
And I was thinking the Smash 3DS Main Menu may look like this too.
Also, the menu for Solo Mode in Uprising has a different theme and looks very different all around, which made me think maybe they could have different themes for the menus of different modes in Smash 3DS.
Another cool thing to note is that while you can't move the camera on this menu due the the 3DS not having a right circle pad by default, you can instead drag the different icons around the touch screen and watch as they struggle to return to their default positions. The hit boxes for the buttons even follow the icons! Smash 3DS will probably have this feature too.
This may seem like a pointless topic, but I've always been really fond of how Sakurai handles menus and interfaces in his games, mainly anything from the Gamecube era onward. He has a very distinct style for his UI's (notice how the upgrade icons in Kirby Air Ride look just like the ones in Smash Run, and how the icons for Powers in Uprising also look like them?), and always adds fun easter eggs and animations to them.
Any guesses/wishes for things they may implement into the UI of Smash 3DS? One feature I'd love to see in both versions of Smash, actually, is to be able to set different themes for your menu after the various characters (or at least the various franchises). The music could also reflect whatever theme you use (for example, the default music for the Kid Icarus theme could be Uprising's main menu music).
