Smash 3DS Could the Smash 3DS Main Menu look like Uprising's?

So I've recently been playing a lot of Kid Icarus: Uprising (amazing game, by the way), and one of the first things I noticed was how similar the interface in the menus is to Brawl. However, it's tweaked to have a more Greek theme, and is tailored for two screens. In case you are wondering why I am bringing Uprising's menu up like this, it's a Sakurai-developed game, and as a result, it took a lot of cues from Smash Bros, right down to the interface. For reference, here is Brawl's:

And here is Uprising's:

And I was thinking the Smash 3DS Main Menu may look like this too.

Also, the menu for Solo Mode in Uprising has a different theme and looks very different all around, which made me think maybe they could have different themes for the menus of different modes in Smash 3DS.

Another cool thing to note is that while you can't move the camera on this menu due the the 3DS not having a right circle pad by default, you can instead drag the different icons around the touch screen and watch as they struggle to return to their default positions. The hit boxes for the buttons even follow the icons! Smash 3DS will probably have this feature too.

This may seem like a pointless topic, but I've always been really fond of how Sakurai handles menus and interfaces in his games, mainly anything from the Gamecube era onward. He has a very distinct style for his UI's (notice how the upgrade icons in Kirby Air Ride look just like the ones in Smash Run, and how the icons for Powers in Uprising also look like them?), and always adds fun easter eggs and animations to them.

Any guesses/wishes for things they may implement into the UI of Smash 3DS? One feature I'd love to see in both versions of Smash, actually, is to be able to set different themes for your menu after the various characters (or at least the various franchises). The music could also reflect whatever theme you use (for example, the default music for the Kid Icarus theme could be Uprising's main menu music).

I didn't hate Brawl's, but it certainly didn't do much to "rouse" the spirit as it was.

I think that the menu/items from Smash Run are already evidence of them taking more inspiration from KI: U and City Trial.

Fun fact to take into account: menus are designed by Sakurai's wife

I actually really enjoyed Melee's main menu; basic, sure, but it worked. Something more simple would make sense for the 3DS, but it doesn't get much more simple than giant colored blobs. I expect something entirely different though, and I do think that the 3DS and Wii U will share menu designs.

Well laugh at me if I end up to be wrong, but I think this won't be the case. The 3DS overall has a much smaller screen, and let's not forget it has two screens at that too (Sure, the gamepad makes up for this, but it's bigger and you don't necessarily need it to play).

Honestly, I hope they don't share it because I would like for both games to have an individual feel in them.

I most certainly wouldn't laugh at you; I feel as though it is more logical to assert that they will NOT share menus. They are different games (in essence) after all. However, I have suspicions that they will share menus just for the ease of development (although it isn't as though a menu is very difficult to rework).

From the look of the "For Fun/For Glory" selection screen, it looks like the menus will be similar to Brawl's.
The scattered icons on the bottom screen as with KI:U is a pretty safe bet for Smash 3DS.

I'm wondering how the character select screen is going to look. Selection on bottom screen with glorious 3D characters on the top? I hope so.

I really liked the enthusiasm the Melee menu brings, I hope they re-incorporate some of melee into this one.

Pretty much this. The similarities between the three are uncanny.

As for the character select screen, I'm really crossing my fingers for one like 64. Like with the squares that have the artwork, then down below there would be their little animation.

I do not expect a menu as detailed as melee was but please do a minimum of effort in brawl, you have the option, like melee, to look around with the c stick. I really wonder why this feature was there for brawl because there's was nothing to look at unlike melee like please have a better menu.

Is that true?
Because I've noticed menu similarities between Air Ride, Brawl and Uprising. He let's her do all the menus?

TBH I like boring and simple things.
Complicated things and designs aren't easy to look at for me.
Melee's menu I thought was simple I guess. However I liked Brawl's menu more as it has a more welcoming feel.
If I had to choose, it woudl definitely be the brawl menu.

Then Sakurai's wife should change her menu design style.

But being more serious, i would really like something different, and new, i mean look at Melee's menu, and Smash 64 menu's, it has some kind of special charm.

I say that i want a menu with the words "Smash Brothers" appearing in the background, in a homage to the original Smash Bros.

I would prefer a menu similar to Brawl and KI:U because they match the quirky and colorful style that smash 4 is going towards
EDIT: Plus dragging around the menu options in KI:U was so much fun:chuckle:

As long as they keep the Easter Egg that lets you drag the menu selections around with the stylus and get them stuck in a huge clump, we're good.

I'm honestly expecting it seeing as how the menus for Kirby Air Ride, Meteos, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Kid Icarus: Uprising all have similar designs.

All of Sakurai's works from Kirby Air Ride and beyond have a distinct style for the menus and I'm expecting that both versions will have similar designs.

I like 64/Melee's sleek interface better. Brawl's looked like it was made by a 13 year old decorating his Myspace. It made more sense for Kid Icarus, because it's touch-screen, so the buttons didn't want to be purely sequential, but spatially based (You can even drag them around for fun.) But for Smash, give me the sleek look.

That would be nice. I liked Uprising's menu for how interactive it was. I'd spend 15 min just screwing with the buttons :3

It probably will. All of Sakurai's menus look similar. Meteos was a DS game he made, and the menus were pretty similar.
