I'm looking for advice on how to improve my Sheik. Here's the 2 matches from the finals of the recent tournament from where I live that I played using Sheik. I lost both. This is the PAL version. Could anyone help me win?

Vs. Falco:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsOONNvW4Xc (Got *****)
Vs. Marth:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjsg51SPZ1o (Semi-comeback. I liked my last stock, especially against his second-to-last stock. But still lost.)

I'd really appreciate it if someone could give me some good advice..?

This is just some general stuff which you may have already picked up, but in the match with marth you seem to have a lot of trouble getting back on the stage. This is a pretty tricky situation in general but you might want to check out this thread http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=117326. It's a bunch of really good sheiks coming together on just that problem.

As for the falco match, I thought you were a bit predictable with the dairs towards the middle of the match and they weren't really working for you. I think it's often times better to just focus on getting onto solid ground as quickly as possible rather than pit the dair against falco's bair. You also had a hard time keeping falco from getting back onto the stage. Edge hopped nairs effectively counter the phantasm and dropping into a bair works wonders against the thunderbird (is that what it's called? whatever). Sheik should really have the upper hand in this dept. Hope that all of this helps

Thank you a lot. =) I wasn't expecting much when I saw your post count and your name was unfamiliar, but that's quite good advice. =) And I know about the dair stuff, I don't know why I did that. Thank you.

I'm not an expert myself but I think you need to work on keeping the enemy from getting back onto the stage. I especially noticed in the match against marth (match 3) near the end he is knocked off the right side of the stage and it appears you could have easily edge-hogged him for the win but instead he gets back and ends up winning. Just my observation :/

BigRick knows what he is talking about. But yeah, a good thing I've learned doing against falco players is that once you b-throw them off the stage, immediately turn around and needle. They can only be solidly hurt by this and you recover fast enough so that there is nothing bad that is going to happen to you. Oh yes, down smash also, it's a nice move to screw up people's spacing and movement. Don't be afraid of spamming it, just don't overuse it too much. Learn to tech chase more also, when going for another grab, don't jump cancel it. You'll slide into the grab and it is much easier to connect. You should d-throw also, instead of u-throwing. They can recover from the u-throw, whereas from the d-throw, they can not and they're stuck on the ground. Much tech chasing is required.

Sweet we've got the same icon! anyways. Don't JC grabs? i'm not sure I agree with that. Are you saying you should boost grab (dash attack cancel)? I feel as though I should always be either JCing or boost grabbing. I find the the height and speed of the JC best for chain grabbing and the range of the boost grab well suited for tech chasing. Am I wrong?
