The controls in the demo seem a bit flakey, does anybody know if they are a bit tighter in the actual game. To me, it kinda seems that once the wii u version comes out, the amount of people playing smash 3ds will drop heavily due to inferior controls.

1. You can edit the controls in the full game.
2. I wouldn't say 'drop heavily' since there are many more 3DS owners than WiiU owners.

Yeah, I'm probably just talking about myself. I'm definitely not playing the 3ds version once the wii u version comes out. Not the 3ds version is bad at all, but it kind of is just good enough to get me well hyped for the better one.

And, I realize you can remap the buttons. What I meant was the overall unresponsiveness of the circle pad and it being difficult to short hop sometimes. I'm basically just wondering if the released game handles better than the demo.

The shorthopping is just a matter of getting used to the timing, it doesn't really feel any different from the past games or other controllers in that regard. The circlepad is certainly quirky in its own way, though. That said, I don't expect the 3DS version to fall off much at all, due to, as SS-bros14 said, more people having a 3DS than a U. That said, I can see owners of both heavily preferring the U version unless they're travelling.

Also, careful about double-posting, the mods don't like it. Use the Edit button instead (located next to the indicator for when you posted your message).

The short hopping is definitely do to having a regular ds. Holding this thing is sort of awkward after a bit

I find the controls extremely tight and have had literally no problems. Just a matter of getting used to it.

I've never been able to do Tilts consistently until I played Smash 3DS, the Circle Pad's even better than the normal stick, and the controls feel tight.

well then, Iguess I just feel awkward with the ds. Should got an xl
I have an XL and have zero complaints about the responsiveness of the controls. Have you used a 3DS much before? I've noticed a lot of people who haven't really used a 3DS before complaining about the controls, hopefully after playing for a while people will get used to it.
