Hey smash community! First post, lol.

This might make me seem like i'm 'that guy' but about controllers and events, is the gamecube controller really the only acceptable controller to use? Due to the outrageous prices on the controllers, my friends and I have been using controllers such as the nunchuck, 3ds, and for me, the gamepad. If I were to go to a tournament, would all other options be rejected? I'm too used to the gamepad, as my friends are used to their controls. I feel as if I were to walk into a tournament, with a gamepad in my hand, I'd be 'that guy' -.-
