For a standard, by the book Brawl tournament is a Gamecube Controller allowed? Or do I have to use a Wii only remote?

How about the classic controller, is it anything better than GC, I see larger, possibly improved control surfaces, a couple more buttons too.
But that cord is in an awkward position.

This is based off preference, I use the CC now ever since I lost my GC controller. There is a few difference but its something you have to get used to. Now I tried to go back to the gc controller because of my great button layout on the cc.

I've competed in two tournaments with a wiimote-nunchuk setup.

There are only a handful of good players using them right now.

I switched to GC controller the day after my last tournament, and I believe it's the superior controller.

The big thing with tournaments is doing the syncing, it may only take an extra minute...but when you've got a big tourney with hundreds of matches, that wasted time will add up FAST.

So, if you're still torn between a wired (GC) and any of the wireless setups, go with the wired option, because there will be rare cases where the wireless setups will be banned, but no matter where you go, the GC controller will never be a problem!

Haha, I can see it now:

People having syncing problems that last 5 minutes long, and the GC controller users will be sitting in their chairs with their head on their palm.

Wired GC controllers = the way to go!

I used to use the Nunchuck, but I went back to using the GC quite a long while back. I've seen several chuck users, but only ever one Wiimote user.

wouldn't a wiimote be hard to use? after training with tech skills in melee with gc controllers i see it difficult.. idk i don't have brawl, can u even use most the techs in it?

Anyways GC controllers should be fine in a tourny.. otherwise idk if many people would show..
