Hello everyone, im a n64 smasher, and have recently played a lot on emulators online.

However keyboard is not gonna cut it for online melee, so i want to get a gamecube controller.
I have already settled on an adapter (raphnet n64/gamecube adapter)
I have however, not settled on a controller yet, i found this one
http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Super-Smash-Classic-Gamecube-Controller/dp/B00O9GW8TC/ref=sr_1_8?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1429735040&sr=1-8&keywords=gamecube controller#Ask
and wanted to ask if anyone has any good experience with it? The feedback will be much appreciated, as i will be able settle on a purchase. If its not any good, what other controller would you recommend and why?

On a side note, i would also like to use this controller for smash64 online play. So if anyone has any experience with or just thoughts about a gamecube controller on a n64, please share that as well!

Thank you for your time :-)

I've always used a 64 controller for 64, but I have the black Sm4sh controller and thus far, it's been great. The sticks are stiffer compared to older GC controllers (mostly because the older ones have more wear and tear), the cord is longer, and they got rid of the metal guiding rods in the L/R buttons.

If you press the triggers down properly (just in and out, not diagonally) you'll have no problems with it, but the triggers occasionally stick if pressed down at an angle. I can't prove its durability because the controller has only been out for less than a year, but it hasn't broken yet, so that's a good sign.

The white controllers are very good. I use a classic GC controller that I painted myself and have had for years. I don't know if it's the wear and tear, the paint getting into the button holes, or the design, but mine feels like it's stuffed with play-doh when I use it now. The button presses are soft and lack that "clacky" sound/feel that other controllers have, and it makes messing up short hops, jump cancels, or light shields a problem if I've gone too long without cleaning it (I scraped the paint out of the button holes, but it didn't help much). A few days ago I was at a friend's house and forgot my controller so I used his spare, which was one of the newer white controllers and it was extremely responsive. It was springy and clacky and I played very well. I always thought "controller johns" were a load of crap until that point. Seriously, do yourself a favor. Get that controller.

For the record, the one I used is different from the one in the picture you linked.

It said "Nintendo Gamecube" where yours is the Smash icon. Idk if that's indicative of a different model, but I'm to understand that both are post-GC releases, and are probably the same on the inside.

Yup, the white controller has the same internal changes as the Sm4sh controller.

I've used the white controller and I'm currently using a custom black sm4sh one and I think the white controller's joystick is more loose than the sm4sh one. I think this is better personally because with the black one, I tend to pivot instead of dash dancing sometimes.

My white controller was a piece of crap. I threw it once and it broke. I didn't even throw it hard. All of my old controllers went through years of use and my white one didn't even last a month. Before I threw it though, I was already having issues with the C Stick. Also, the triggers were awful when I first got it.
