Controller Preference

Hey guys i'm kind of new to smash but I was noticing that players like Armada were trying to find a white gamecube controller and not one of the Wii U Smash Edition controllers. Could anyone tell me why this is?

The Wii U Smash controllers have really crappy triggers. The white (or older) ones have much more accurate triggers.
