hax said on twitter that his gcc was good for multishining because the paint between y and b wore out making it slippery. should I purposely do this to achieve 20xx? lol

and are there any other mods that can help? like maybe getting a shorter Y button?

Wouldn't it be fine as long as it's not a macro? Doing stuff like remapping the buttons is perfectly legal.
Remapping buttons is legal, yeah. I thought he meant something like a button at the back and suddenly quadruple shine.

That'd be tournament illegal.
Literally that sort of thing. Not for use in tournament because I already know that, but simply something to use for some amount of hilarity.

I can imagine doing something really ugly to the board to get it to work. For example, directly soldering on to the B and a jump button, then the stick it self. Using a separate board you have a button to press on that which will get the voltages for inputting mutli-shining at the right interval to sort of override the buttons natural inputs.

The timing would probably be the trickiest part, but I have no idea how the gamecube actually sends commands anyway. I think its serially.

replacing the y button with another x button could make it easier because x buttons are much shorter and your thumb could cover space quicker
