Control Schemes in Tournaments

Are there many tourneys that only allow one type of control scheme? And if they do, is it mainly Wiimote + Nunchuck? Or should it be assumed that any control scheme is perfectly fine in any tourney. I use the GC scheme, and don't want to show up for a tourney and realize that it's Wiimote only.

Most tournaments let you use all type of controllers.

HOWEVER, some 'official' scrub-magnet tournament have some restrictions.

But do not worry! Tournaments with SWF/SBR rules will always let you use what you want.

My friend uses a playstation controller in tournaments and nobody complains.
