Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but if not, please move this where it belongs.

Anyway, the problem I'm having is when playing online, I'll randomly disconnect. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it. Sometimes I can get in a dozen or so matches without any problems and other times I can't even finish one. The specific Error Code I'm getting is 003-4099. I know what that one is and I'm as close to the router as I could humanely be, so that can't be the problem. It could have something to do with my router, but my 3DS is the only thing in my house that has trouble seemingly staying connected.

I have AT&T U-Verse and the router is the Motorola NVG510 (yes, THAT router). My security settings is WPA-2-PSK. I've fiddled with every darn setting I can think of and have had no luck getting the connection consistent. This doesn't just happen in Smash either, but every game I go online with on my 3DS. I'm thinking I can't be the only one in the world with this problem, so do any of you here have any ideas on what I could do? This is extremely frustrating and makes playing online a headache.

If I haven't given enough information in this post or haven't been clear enough, let me know and I'll try to answer any questions you guys have.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried taking your 3DS or any mobile device capable of acquiring internet access to another location and using their wifi?

Hmm. No, I haven't. That's actually a good idea. I'll see if I can do that tomorrow and get back to you to tell you what happens.

Sorry for double post, but I just wanted to say I may have fixed the problem and I'm replying to this because it may help others out who are having the same problem. After exhausting just about every option I could think of, I decided to take a look at the connections near, inside, and around the apartment building I live in. I saw a lot of them were using the same channels as my connection and it's possible the interference from them caused all my connection errors. I changed the channel to one absolutely no one nearby was using and so far, I haven't had a single disconnect. While I can't say for sure yet if this is a permanent solution, it seems to help for sure.
