Squirtle Squirt Squirtle...

*cough*

Any tips on consistently Nairing or Wavedashing? I'm not opposed to different button layouts, the only changes I've made are no tap to jump and x is shield.

For wavedashing: Practice on Final Destination with Luigi to get the motion down. The timing will differ between characters; Luigi is the easiest character to wavedash with.

Consistently nairing is about self restraint. I used to have this instinct that nagged me into always tapping the control stick one way or another. I repeatedly told myself not to do this, and now I can do jabs, tilts, and nairs on command.

Nairing actually got easier once I started using the C-Stick for aerials, only using A in the air for neutrals. Weird, but it works!

As for wavedashing, my main issue was trying to input all the commands at one time. Which is hard to separate in my head, but I'm getting it down!

start practicing with the stick already in the position you want to dash, i.e down diagonal.

Then Hit Jump then Dodge.
Once you have the timing, for the buttons start with the stick in neutral

The only character I find it difficult to wd with is bowser, and that's cuz he's got that stupid crazy timing because of how long his jump square lasts.

the way i got it down was to have a match only using one move and repeating until i perfect it.
