I made a BRSTM for Monster's Dance from Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, and for some reason there is consistent crackling whenever I play it. It seems to happen more with some of the higher pitches in the song. There was no crackling in the .wav file, and there wasn't any crackling when I was finding the loop points.
I exported the .wav as a 16-bit PCM at 44100Hz from audacity, though the raw file is 32-bit float. The BRSTM importer wouldn't read a 32-bit float .wav for some reason.
Other than this problem, the BRSTM plays fine, and loops well.
Here's the BRSTM so you can listen to what I'm talking about.
Has anyone else encountered this, or possibly have suggestions as to fixing it?
Thanks!
EDIT: I solved the issue. Apparently changing the volume peak to -1dB wasn't enough. I had to change the peak to -2dB.
