confusion about 2v2 for glory

so with the new modes confirmed and ways to play online for the wii u version im hearing alot of different things said as to what you can really do when it comes to playing with friends in 2v2 online for glory.

from what i understand you can only be playing on THE SAME wii u TOGETHER to play with a friend online. there is still no option of inviting a friend in your party then going into matchmaking in games such as halo or a more closely related fighter PSASBR.

can someone just confirm the proper information im just a tad confused

That's right. You can only do the 2-player online option locally.

Actually, in the Wii U version you can play Team Smash together locally, OR via Friend Roster, by inviting them to the matchmaking queue. Go watch the video again, and you'll see.

Oh I see what you're talking about. They don't explicitly state it though. It just shows an image of the With Friends room. And their phrasing seems kinda weird if you actually can invite your friends online. Here's a quote, "Team up in team battle using the same Wii U console." Why would they say something like this? Couldn't they have just said 2-player online or something? And for your reference, it is fact number 44 in the video.
