Concerning the Raphnet GC adapter for PC.

I've been looking to play both project m and melee online. Just a few days ago, I received a mayflash GC to PC adapter to play. However, the L and R buttons are only recognized when pushed all the way down meaning you cannot lightshield. It also makes wavedashing harder and all around not what I was anticipating, so it is being returned.

Does anyone have experience with the Raphnet adapter seen here?: http://www.raphnet-tech.com/products/gamecube_to_usb/

I would like to know if recognizes light presses (and if it emulates the GC controller fully in general), unlike the mayflash.

Thanks!

I am using a Mayflash adapter (the dual port one) and analog L/R buttons work for me. Go to GCPad settings, and for L/R analog push the L/R buttons in to the point right before they click. Then for the L/R trigger, set those to Button 4 and Button 5 respectively. Here's a picture of my settings. http://gyazo.com/5f6ac1f57537378162d19a4a4d3c80b9

Yeah, my settings are exactly like yours, minus the deadzones. However, the l and r analogs do not gradually light up as they should. They become 90% red so matter how much I push them in and then 100% red, once I click. I don't know why it's not working for me :(.

Oh, just like to add I'm also using the dual port one.

I installed the drivers from their website and when that didn't work, I installed the ones from the disc that it came with. Both of them yielded the same result. Also, I'm skepticle altogether if light presses work. Because, I set both the l/r buttons and analogs to button 4 and 5. And yet, when I play PM, jump in the air and gently press either l or r, AIR DODGE STILL DOES NOT OCCUR. I think this is a defective unit. :S

Okay, before you call it defective, completely uninstall all of their drivers. Windows will have its own default drivers which is what I find to work best. In PM you can't air dodge with a light press anyways.

Wait before I do that, that has me confused. I just turned on PM on the Wii console, and I can definitely air dodge with less than 5% of the button pushed down. I can 5% press the button (which causes me to air dodge) and then tether grapple or use the grapple to attack right away. Why does it not work this way on PC? :O

If you have PM on your Wii console, I'm curious to see if for some reason, I'm the only one who can do that..?

Edit: It works properly with microsoft default drivers, but air dodge still does not work on light press. :/

Just confirmed on my wii definitely cannot airdodge or WD with a light press. Here is a post on the PM website that confirms this.. although it is an old post so I'm not sure of the relevance anymore.
But yeah definitely uninstall the mayflash drivers.

And I definitely can... which is extremely weird. Well that is disheartening, because I finally got the thing working, but because I am so accustomed to wavedashing/airdodging with barely any presses, this is going to be extremely irritating. Should I remove the springs in my controllers or smth? lmao, what a turn off for me this is :(

I bet the reason why it works for you on the wii is because you're using the wifi set. You should get accustomed to the full set, as it is much more widely used. I think full press is more accurate IMO, and you can still l-cancel with light presses.

Okay, actually, that might be the reason why.... I am using the wifi set. -,-
I guess I'll have to get used to the full presses as weird as it feels.

Thanks very much, you've been really helpful!
