So a parent of mine installed a Virus scan to heal our files, but it went crazy and deleted important stuff, before self-destructing. No we can only use my desktop, AOL stopped working, and the sound cut for no reason, even though everything is in tact. not only that, but when I looked online to replace the files, certain sites said they could fix that sopecific issue for free, but then it says you have to buy their software first. Bottom line: it's all a big scam. No I'm sitting on my silent computer without easy access to my emails, and a bunch of other glitchy stuff.

AVG. It was doing it's job until we got it updated. Then it deleted impotant files it thought was evil

I remember when I put a virus scan thingy on my computer. Whenever I tried to play any game online, even if I had it as an exception to the fire wall, it still gave me a virtual middle-finger.

The moral of both my story and The Altrox's story: let someone else screw up by putting the wrong kind of protection program on their comp. so you can learn not to use it from their mistake.

I never really cared much about computer safety until after I started playing World of Warcraft. I didn't want some chinese ******* stealing my gold and stuff >.> (why is baztard censored?)

Altrox do some research buddy. Keep yourself safe and don't trust anything lol. And don't search for free serial numbers on the web either unless you want some REALLY NASTY spyware >.<

If you have a virus, sometimes the virus will send fake advertisements for virus cleaning software. They are FAKE as hell. If you get random pop ups for virus scaning software, never trust it. EVAR... Use your EXISTING virus scan only, although that doesn't always work and I don't know why =/.
