I really hope in Brawl they improve the AI, or make them a lot tougher to beat. In Melee, a CPU is always a bot. For example; you throw a Trip mine and they are gaurenteed to step on it. Without an online mode, we'll be playing bots when we're lonely so they better be tough this time. :)

AI will never equal a human. Comps in SSBM is just attacking constantly. What they should do is improve the DI for lvl. 1s so combo practice is a bit more realistic.

I thought about this yesterday, too. However, the fact that there will be an online mode pretty much throws this discussion out the window, in my opinion. The AI should remain the same - if you want a real challenge, then go online. I mean, the real use for the computer players is something to beat up to unlock everything, right?

If they HAVE to improve the AI though, they should at least make level 1s not just stand around for five seconds just to throw a jab at you...

I think since people have created ways of battling, the developers will make the AI use those techniques. Maybe level 9 in Brawl will use wavedashing, SHFFLing, edgehogging, and everything else. Of course, we will all figure out techniques to use after the game comes out, so we will probably be better than the bots and their skill be become outdated.

Oh sorry, I didn't know online was definate. In that case, AI can stay the same, or just learn techniques. :)
