Okay, I got this info from a VERY credible source who lives in a box near Nintendo of America HQ. He was recruited as a play tester for the translated version of Brawl last week, in return for a weekly payment of gin. In turn, he's told me the ENTIRE Brawl roster, including secret characters.
Now I won't waste your time re-confirming characters who were in DOJO! updates, except to confirm that Snake, Sonic, PT, Olimar, and Wario are all unlockable. The rest of the roster already revealed are starter characters -- the only ones. Everyone else is unlockable. Here's the list:
-Capt. Falcon
-Falco
-Jigglypuff
-Luigi
-Shigeru Miyamoto
-Sandbag
-A cloud of argon gas
-Mandy Patinkin
-some rocks
-Spyro & Spiro (a Zelda/Sheik type combo -- down-B switches between Spyro the Dragon and former US Vice President Spiro T. Agnew)
-Bill Gates (Miyamoto's boss in SSE)
-The stage itself (playing as the stage allows you to control stage hazards at will)
-Zero zero suit Samus (may be taken out if it earns the game an AO rating)
-The Pong paddle
-The Pong paddle from the left side (known as "Crazy Pong")
-Darth Vader
-Yoda
-Richard Dawkins (sort of like PT, switches between H. Erectus, H. Neanderthal, and H. Sapiens)
-Jerry Falwell (Dawkins' rival, also like PT, switches between Holy Spirit, Jesus, and God)
-Capt. Falcon's knee
-Ennui (being an abstract concept, it does not actually appear on screen, but good users can cause other players to SD)
-Megaman (I hope this doesn't make the list seem too unbelievable)
Well, there you have it. This is the full roster as of right now. Trust me, I speak the truth. But I guess you'll all find out on Feb. 10, or whenever those heathen Japanese release it.
