"Competitive Worthy"

I'm not even sure how to word this.

Is there such a thing as being qualified or something as a competitive player. I've always wanted to join the scene, I play for glory a bunch, but I've never been able to go to tourneys or anything. Is competitive play similar to being an artist, in the sense that if you do it, you are one. An example is that if you draw you aren't an aspiring artist, you already are one.

You answered your own question. By playing at competitions you are a competetive player. Go out and see for yourself if your passion for improvement is strong. Have at them, man.
