Competitive scene in Sm4sh 3DS vs Wii U?

So since they're both the same game, how do you think the competitive Smash scene is going to decide which platform for tournaments will be played on? Personally I really don't want to be a Wii U just to play the Wii U version, so I'd rather it was at least evenly distributed between both versions. What do you think will happen?

Most friendlies will probably be played on 3ds. While the serious matches will be played on wii u. I believe that this is how most tournaments will look. But you never know, there might be 3ds exclusive tournaments. We´ll have to just wait and find out.

I think both games might become their own thing. With different stages across both, and the fact that I HIGHLY doubt both versions are exactly the same (although, this is Sakurai we're talking about, that man can do anything it seems).

Local tournaments will surely be played on the Wii U version, because it is easier to stream from home consoles and because of people's precious Gamecube controllers (lel). I wouldn't worry about the 3DS version being neglected after the Wii U version is out, though. At the end of the day, the 3DS player base is massive compared to the Wii U player base, so I think there will always be at least online tournaments for the 3DS version

3DS tournaments will be phased out as soon as the Wii U game comes out because the 3DS version has ridiculous lag in a tournament environment
