I would like an option to toggle the following to ensure they never happen as I think this would benefit the competitive scene more than anything:
-screen KOs
-star KOs
-screen shake

In the doubles finals at Apex, there was at least one screen KO and, even though the villager was only on the screen for a moment, it was still long enough that it was obstructing something very important.

Likewise, the game ended with a star KO and Ness falling off the screen, dying first:

I'd personally like to remove some of the randomness and obstruction from the game, especially when you want consistency in a tournament match.

I dont see how making a thread helps at all, especially at this point in time when modding is not yet possible.

That being said, screen and star KOs are what keep Rest a safe KO option. The give enough time for Jigglypuff to wake up vefore the victim comes back. Without them jigglypuff would essentially be punished for KOing with that move.

Random thought: What's the worst punish you can hit Jigglypuff with if the game doesn't roll a star KO? Can Ganondorf do a reverse Warlock Punch? (Probably not. But it would be hilarious.)

I have no idea to be honest... Thoron? Ol One-Two? But doesnt the game always do a cinematic KO if it was off the upper blastline? Luma is the only character this doesnt happen to.

I'm pretty sure it's random.

When maybe what you'd want is an ALWAYS star KO option. It's the randomness that can severely affect the outcome of games, cast in point: https://youtu.be/IeofBKA9fvE?t=21m18s

Would a mode consisting of nothing but star KOs not draw out the match unnecessarily, though?

An option to turn off random and sporadic ephemera (up to and including stage hazards) would be very welcome, but considering Smash is designed primarily as a party game, I can't see it being a plausible option right now.

I have not actually researched, but I have a theory based on analyzing all the matches I have played. I think that when the % is of a high level or both you and you opponent are close to the blast line, a normal blast KO will occur. And when you just barely made that KO or KO from the main plataform, the Star/Screen KO will occur.

Maybe it's acctually just random, but I may have to test this.
