Just think about it.

You train your amiibo so it uses advanced tactics, customize its moves and give it OP equipment, and then fight it out with others. This would make one heck of a side-event and it would finally give a purpose to having equipment.

What do y'all think?

Aw man. It'd be awesome to watch people's trained Amiibo's fight each other in a tourney. There probably wouldn't be one until all the Smash Bros. Amiibos are out though. I really hope it happens

Has a date been released for when the others are coming out?

They haven't set any release dates I think. Just that they're gonna release sets of fighters periodically.

Edit: Wave 2 will be out in December. I'm just waiting for a Lucina Amiibo lol

I always thought of doing something like this except with CPUs haha. Then bet to see who would win! But since Amiibos can actually learn it'll be interesting to see what comes

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this is a good idea.

Imagine a Twitch stream that lets you bet on an amiibo and watch em' fight live!

inb4 Nintendo hosts actual amiibo tournaments in order to sell the products.

In all seriousness though, I've joked about how Amiibo is the closest we've ever gotten to training a pokemon, even more so than in pokemon games, but I can seriously see this. Maybe even train amigos that work well together. The skill comes in training them, in which there is apparently a huge amount of customization and nuance. Maybe Player+amiibo doubles could happen. I'm sure it won't ever be a main attraction, but I can definitely see it being a popular side event.

I still think Amiibo is one of the coolest things in this new game, at least conceptually.

This is the combination of my 2 favorite things...Pokemon and Smash!
The potential for something great is definitely here.
