Competing as a TO

Curious what the consensus is on this. I've yet to find someone who has an issue with it, and I participate in every local tournament I've hosted as a competitor, but curious if anyone would have any concerns over something like this.

The tournaments I host are always less than 50 people in size, I think mostly because of the area. I host them at a local comic/game shop and have a few friends as well as the owner on standby to guard the bracket and direct players if I happen to be in a match. Do you find anything wrong with the TO paying the same entry fee as everyone else and competing with the chance of winning the very event they are hosting?

No, as a new-time TO I join in the tournament as well, because at the end of the day, I set up tournaments so that everybody, including myself, can enjoy them. As for directing and bracket guarding, I have some close friends that I have take over those duties, and I don't have to worry about winning my own tournaments because I have friends who are much better than me.
