So I just want to make this short and sweet, since it's more of a personal question, but I think any information you can provide will greatly help new players, and those without local scenes.
How can I shift out of for glory, and into communities, groups or smash scenes?
This question comes from someone who lives in a small, rural area desolate of any smash community. I think most of us are getting pretty tired of laggy for glory, not to mention that most players are not fun to play against. I have nobody to play against at any time, and it is very unreliable to play against Wii-U friends, given the terrible messaging system. I desire to grow as a player, and want to go places on the way. I'm asking for any of you to provide any info you have on accepting groups, communities that are open to new players, or how fairly new players such as I can broaden our competitive horizon. Thank-you very much for taking the time to read this... not so short and sweet ramble. I hope we all continue to grow as a community, and have fun SMASHIIIING! :)

You'd be surprised what you can find. Usually it's easier to find people near bigger cities, but it's entirely possible to get a group together from a variety of places so long as you have a common meeting spot. You can look on here under the Regional Zones sections which is under the Tournament tab, search to see if there's anyone near your area, or make a thread to see what's happening. That's how I found my community, and met a lot of interesting people.

While For Glory is super laggy, especially with the new update as I've heard, if you make friends on here you might run into them at a tournament. I wish I did that this Apex, but next year and EVO exist! So try to make friends on there with good people, and the same with the boards. You just have to find out where people are and get a conversation going.

Also, you could broaden your search and look for FGC communities in general, which Smash is often a subset of. Good luck!

I appreciate the advice, thank you
Unfortunately there really isn't any sort of community around my county I already region searched :/
I have noticed there are online tournament sign-ups plastered in some of the forums, so I figure I should start there if that's a good choice. I'm in no rush anyhow, I just want to improve and have a good experience.
