The point of waveshing him across the stage is to edgeguard him -- not really to rack up damage. Edgeguarding Falcon is almost always easier than comboing and racking up enough damage to outright kill him. Also Falcon is not that good at escaping waeshine combos because of the distance he gets sent from shine. It's not short enough (like Peach) for him to really end up behind you, and it's not long enough (like Sheik) to send him far enough away to make it even slightly more difficult to waveshine him again. I'd be stupid to say that waveshine -> upsmash -> further combo isn't good though, so to each his own. Clearly there are scenarios for each. I just feel that for Falcon specifically, it is more often better to set up for an edgeguard. However, waveshine -> upsmash can lead to any of the combos I detailed in my previous post. So I think we're both right haha.I don't necessarily agree with wave shining a falcon across the stage, it's more efficient and easier to do a waveshine up smash for 30% than doing 6 wave shines for 30%. you risk dropping your combo or having the opponent SDI your shine and your combo can drop. if you can wave shine across stage 100% of the time do it, but expect the SDI if you keep doing the same thing. can certainly mix up your shine timings to throw them off, but that's a whole different ballpark.
I try to wave shine up smash then react to their di with an aerial or move forward and take their space, pushing them to the corner. can shoot lasers on full di away at higher percents too. up tilt combos into up tilt for a lot of damage if you catch them in the air, can up smash to start a tech chase as well. I like doing Sh Drill turn around Up tilt as an opening around 50
