Collada for 3DS Max 2010?

I'm trying to get into vertex hacking and I already have 3ds Max 2010, but I haven't been able to find a version of collada that actually supports it. Does anybody know of one and, if necessary, how to install it?

These claim to work for 2008-2011.

I've got 3ds 2011, but whenever I try to import a dae file using the collada plugin, the bones are fine but the polygons get really messed up.
