Well today October 5th, 2007 They announce you can do co-op with brawl, no i wonder, will this co-op be online? are they going to try and make single player look more attractive? Give me your thoughts.

I don't think it will be online, personally. It would be unfair if a really good player was on your team and you breezed through intense or a really bad player was on your team and you lost because the stupid kamakazi committed suicide at every chance he got.

Edit: Or perhaps that will be a feature you unlock after beating Subspace with every character on at least Very Hard without continuing

I don't think so. Besides it would be really annoying you being 2nd player and in the middle of the final battle and suddenly P1 disconnects

IMO if co-op was online wouldn't be under the Wi-Fi connection tab under Game Modes?
Not necessarily, since it's not exclusively Wi-Fi play...

But anyway, I'm not sure if they'd implment it... But if they do, I have a feeling it will only be with friend codes.

Wait, you're saying "The Subspace Emissary Online" ?

Why?

If you're saying 2v2 online like in MSC where you could play with a guest, that would be an awesome and very probable idea.

I highly doubt that the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection will have the capabilities to do this sort of Online play.

It's a general fact, that when it comes to online capabilities for consoles; Xbox Live is the lead, followed by Playstation Network, and then the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Now if you take a look at some of the online features for games on their consoles... On Xbox360, we have Halo 3 which has 4-player online co-operative mode through the single player campaign, in addition to the online multiplayer modes that Halo is famous for. On PS3, there is Resistance: Fall of Man, which has no online co-operative mode, but a robust online versus mode. and on the Wii / DS, well... yea... you see what I am getting at here?

I believe that even if the Nintendo-WFC would allow Online Co-Op.. it would be extremely limited (no lobbies, text-based chat through virtual keyboard, voice chat) topped off with probably annoying loading times between every level and mode select. Plus it isn't very fair for the person who would be playing the 2P online... they don't really get to choose anything, or lead anywhere.

Another thing worth mentioning... I think if it were Online, Sakurai would have made a note of it in this update.

VS mode isn't exclusively online and it's up there. I mean, if it were online, Sakurai would've said it and not make a different update for it.

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense that they'll make you unlock an online portion of the game by playing the single player game. Unless I'm wrong here, I don't think that happens very often in games with dual online and single player modes.

I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't online. Most online games these days don't have online co-op and they're on a better service.

from dojo:
"So, whether you’re siblings or close friends, two can play together."

so, I guess what sakurai means is that they are at your home, in other words, with you.
I doubt about adventure mode co-op online, it would be cool though

We don't even know how long this adventure mode could be. It could be a 5 hour adventure (or more) for all we know. I'm not underestimating it.

It would be cool, yeah, but I don't think Nintendo's limited wi-fi service could support it.
Co-op Subspace Emissary was more than I expected anyways, I'm just happy wth that!

All that's said is two siblings or friends can play together. But online co-op is always a possibility.
