First of all, i do not think Cloud is overpowered in general. He is a very good character, but at least in 1v1 you can see his downsides, especially because of his mediocre recovery.

In doubles though, his chance to hit with limit downB grows immense. All what it takes is one throw from the teampartner and i assume it is even a bit more common to get a grab in doubles than in singles. It does not even necessarily need a throw, any other attack, especially a jab, can lead to the limit downB. Also, it seems easier to charge the limit.

Players understood that strength coming from that and so we see more and more teams with cloud coming through. Because of that, it seems like we getting from "Doubles" to "Cloud-with-support-matches".

I would be glad to hear your opinion regarding that. How bad is it? Is there a need to think about a ban similar to the GaW&Sheik combo? Or are there chances for it to be just a temporary phenomen that people will overcome with some kind of adaption?

Cloud has taken doubles by storm. I remember within a week of his release people were saying he might be the best doubles character and so far these claims have not died down.

I feel like at lower levels of play cloud may be almost degenerate in doubles, due to his ease of use and power. At high level, we have seen some examples of cloud teams being beaten. At Beast 6 Mr R and Cyve switched from shiek cloud to sheik diddy and has better results against Mvd and Esam. Zero and Nakat almost beat M2k's cloud+ Anti's sheik, they switched to cloud mario and won however. At Genesis Zero and Nairo took out double cloud team Rain and Nientono and reset the bracket against Ranai and Komrikiri's Villager Cloud duo before losing is the second set.

At top level it seems like Cloud has not yet reached complete doubles dominance, but he's also not particularly old and many players just use a pocket cloud in doubles. When these players' doubles Clouds start getting better, then I feel we may see if Cloud is truly the best in doubles.

The issue with only banning certain teams is that most characters with villager's mobility and above are probably ok partners for Cloud. Banning a character from doubles entirely this early is unlikely to happen.

He's fine imo. His presence forces a player to be acutely aware of Finishing Touch and preventing that as much as possible. If you and your ally can keep that in check, then your team will be fine. Cloud isn't too overwhelming in other aspects of Doubles play.

I do think that he will ravage low-mid level players though. Catching unsuspecting players can polarize matches very quickly. Did your ally get thrown off-stage? Now the Cloud team has a 2v1 opportunity to wipe out your stock with a grab setup. Fantastic lol

I suppose adapting is just as important here as anywhere else.
