Ok guys teams in SE will grow to contain more than 2 charachters.

This is from the Dojo Team Update

In co-op mode, when either player 1 or player 2 loses a life, that player will be revived as another team member until your stock count runs out.

Solid Proof that teams will grow larger than 2 people

I'm still trying to see how this has anything to do with 3 or 4 player Co-Op.

no not 3 or 4 player co op. People are going around believing that teams will only contain 2 charachter per team. This has nothing to do with Number of humans.

Um.... 2-1+1=3?....hm.... riiight.... Player one died, oh noes, team has 3 stock, player one comes back as the same character, team now has 2 stock. Oh noes, player two died... guess that's what you get for agreeing to play co-op with your little cousin, player 2 comes back as the same character, team has 1 stock. Oh noes, you're dumb little cousin wanted to see what was off screen to the left and got pwned by a goomba.... team has 0 stock and you're now free of your cousin.

I don't follow your logic at all.

If one person's KO'd, he's revived from the stock pool.

(Someone is KO'd) 2 - 1 -> 1
(Replaced from pool) 1 + 1 -> 2

I had to break out my calculator, but it seems we're not going over two people (from that Dojo post, anyways).

In SSE, as you go you your pool of characters grows. If one's KO'd, he's replaced with another from the pool.

that is my logic, most people think there will be 2 too a pool.

Veil...Your missing the point, it says when player one or two dies they will be revived as ANOTHER team member...They wont, just be revived...Think about it brainiac.

Frogla-Your absolutely right.

Ok so you're basically saying example:

Player 2 is Mario, Player dies and is revived by another team..Which=Another character?
So if Mario dies he is replaced with Kirby[example]

I'm going to have to read where this is in Dojo post

^Yes, that is what it says.

The only thing I am interested in knowing is what if you have the option to use only a set of two people? Like, will you be able to choose how many or on your team? Say my two people are Mario and Kirby.

I die as Mario, then die as Kirby, then can I be Mario again?

Or does the stock you set also set the number of characters on your team (1 character per stock)?

remember the smash logos on the side of the screen in the subspace gameplay vids. I believe those are the lives alotted in that level. Hence why the pit level by himself has 1, and pit and mario level have 2

Kind of...But not by another team----by another team MEMBER...Now, if the team consists of two characters, which will probably be the case early on, then yea, they are probably just revived, but my guess is that the teams run into eachother and there are more characters to choose from. And hte ones you dont coose will be the ones that show up when one of your dies.

yeah that summed it up for me.

But remember in the early levels there was only one smash logo life. Where you only had 1 member of the team. My belief is when you have 1 you only have 1 life and you cant summon partner.

And if kirby dies he wont respawn, it will be gameover. But the first levels will be easy to make up for it.

Also i noticed that when Mario and Kirby fight, there is a press start button so P2 can be kirby.

^Yup, noticed that too.

The only thing I'm disappointed with is that you have to play with certain characters. I don't want to use Mario, Kirby or Pit, I want to use my main.

Perhaps the second time you go through you'll be able to pick any character (because you will have unlocked them all the first time)?

I view it as a way to find charachters i like. I would have never picked up jigglypuff if i had to play her in that one event match

I think all the main characters(Ones who aren't unlockable) have their own story line that eventually leads all to to the same point. Kinda like Sonic Adventure 1 & 2.

Either way you'll eventually have to play as every character and beat story-mode with them to unlock different things. it's how smash bros will usually always be

I think this is being made much more complex than it probably is. Of course I could be wrong but it really seems like every SE stage has a set of two characters, and if you have 2 stock or more you can summon your partner. From there you share the stock you have left. If p1 dies with the last stock, game over, if p2 dies with the last stock, p1 is alone.

That's how I thought it would be. I didn't read the part about replacement of another team member.

Yes, I suppose.

BTW your sig is epic. The best one on the entire forum imo.
Thanks

How i feel on unlockables is that they will be in

Game storyline: In multiplayer games, characters from all Nintendo universes meet up in Nintendo locales to duke it out. In the solo mode called “The Subspace Emissary,” the world of Smash Bros. is invaded by an entity called the Ancient Minister and his army of creatures, called “The Primid.” Normally, characters come alive in the world of Smash Bros. to do battle, then turn back into trophies when defeated. However, the Ancient Minister starts turning characters into trophies to harness their power, then detonates bombs that suck pieces of the world back into his realm of Subspace. Eventually, all the characters must work together to defeat the invading creatures from Subspace - this is accomplished by playing through side-scrolling levels.

This is the nintendo press conference so it has to be true

But dig this
Eventually, all the characters must work together to defeat the invading creatures from Subspace - this is accomplished by playing through side-scrolling levels.

That means all of them even unlockables

Right and I htink I saw somehting that might proove this.....

Remember hte "sonic joins the brawl" video....well at one point you see sonic rollling though a cave and at the end you see a barrel..

This is the same cave that diddy and dk are goign through in the recent SSE videos---with the barrels at the end too...So, there must be a way to play it as characters other than what were originally in it.

in the Subspace Emissary. What is the Subspace Emi
I think the amount of stocks will depend on the difficulty level and who you come back as will depend on who's on your team. This could get pretty confusing with say, 2 team members and 3 stocks though. In single player you probably get to choose who you want to come back as if this happens, even if it doesn't make much sense >_<

If anything, this thread has made the waters a little more murky with speculation.

Sweet.

I'll have nothing negative to say about Subspace if you can use any character on your second run through.

I don't think that those Smash logo's are their lives. Something tells me that that is a meter of some kind that lets you use a Final Smash. On a related note, I agree that you should be able to replay any level of Subspace with any character after you complete it.

Watch the diddy kong trailer, when he summons DK it takes on of that meter. So yeah its lives, this also proves that charachter will respawn as themselves if no other team member are applicable

Or perhaps each player starts out with one Final Smash and you have to share?

Look at the meter bar, it had 3 but the moment P2 pressed start and Dk appeard it went to 2.
Ahh... I see. Well then I'm going to go off topic for a second and ask how you think we will get to use Final Smashes. It could appear in the conventional manner but that might be hard if you were battling in a tunnel or another small area.

im to believe one of two things

1. They wont be in at all

2. That the ! shape box DK hit will sometimes release Smash Balls also.

I really dont see a meter being probable or plausible

All its saying is that its the SAME WAY AS IN MELEE WHEN YOU PLAY TEAMS

You start the coop -> you each have 3 lives... for a total of 6.

when player 1 loses all 3 of his lives, he takes 1 from player 2, until you reach 0

Let me explain what the hell his post means.

In co-op mode, when either player 1 or player 2 loses a life, that player will be revived as another team member until your stock count runs out.

But, if Player 1 loses a life after the stock count has run out, that’s the end! Player 2 is participating simply as an optional player, so be careful.

Imagine playing as 1 player. There will be 2 character you can choose. Lets say that you have 6 lives (just so the example can include all scenerios) ->Thats our current set up. Mario / Kirby

Player 1 chooses Mario.

You enter the game. You have 6 lives. Kirby Joins. You now have 5 lives.

Kirby Dies, Mario is left, you still have 5 lives.

Kirby Comes back. You have 4 lives.

Mario Dies, Mario comes back, you have 3 lives.

*now heres where it gets complicated.

Kirby Dies, Then Mario Dies. you have 2 lives.

Player 1 (mario) comes back as Kirby.

Player2(Kirby) comes back as Mario 1 life left

Player2(mario) dies ... no lives left to take

Player1(Kirby) Dies ... game Over

how can you say that when he clearly states as a differnet member

ok 3 lives Team is made up of Mario, Pit and Snake

P1 is mario
P2 is snake
P2 dies reseructs as Snake
P2 dies (P2 no more chances left)
P1 dies Game Over
