So after 2 weeks or so of the demo and a few days of launch this happened:

imgur [dot] com [slash] kLB8cXM

I obviously saw the news reports going around about it happening and definitely don't use my 3ds like a controller and yet it still happened anyway. Just thinking about what to do next. Its still works the stick part for movement etc..

#1 - Should I bother contacting Nintendo at all?
#2 - Are there replacement parts I can buy that work reasonably well?
#3 - Could always get a new 3DS but the new one is about a month away for me
#4 - Could always find a place that fixes these things

I know there is a replacement for it on amazon somewhere for like 2-3$ but I cannot seem to find it at the moment (someone posted it a few weeks back on the forums)

Aside from that, try contacting Nintendo I'd say if the product is still in warranty

I don't have proof of purchase anymore so that probably means im out of luck on that front.

This might sound stupid at first, but have you tried considering applying some industrial superglue for plastic? It looks glued on there, if that one failed you could scrape it off to regain the flat surface and get them together again. You'd be surprised how stubborn a really good glue is

It's an idea, I don't like the idea of using glue or taking apart the 3ds (myself) to install a replacement one, trying to find something that hopefully I can just click into place or whatever on the net.

You can always try to contact Nintendo. But if that doesn´t work, then you can buy a replacement on the website "Amazon".

Is Amazon good? We don´t have it here in Sweden.

I also recommend what @ ReddFloxy ReddFloxy said. The right kind of superglue or paste that works well on plastic can really help out. I used some to fix a part of my car door and it still holds. I am sure it can handle a small, round plastic piece on the 3DS.

This also happend to me the week before smash came out in the uk. The blame I reckon is a combination of my 3DS's age and the smash 3DS Demo. I spoke to Nintendo, they said I'd have to pay £47.50 I believe... I think I'm gonna do it :/
