Cigarretes: To ban or not to ban???

Cigarretes a substance that is smoked by people it is made by the many cigarret companies and make money off people who smoke,have died because of smoking,people who already have diseases do to smoking,mothers who smoke and miscarrige,and so on. Cigarretes have poisonus chemicals that could hurt you body,shorten your life,cause diseases,or even kill. Also I know some people hate this when it happens say a person is smoking a cigarrete and suddenly he blows all those harmfull chemicals ( which are in the smoke ) at you wich is really nasty. I know this for a fact that you seen those TV commercials called INFECT-TRUTH they are fighting the tobacco companies over cigarretes that they are harmfull to people health and kill more people than car accidents. So inconclusion this is why they should BAN cigarretes.

That's an excellent idea.

I too think we should criminalise half the popuation, fill the bursting-to-the-seams jails with people who are so completely evil to smoke. I also think that the criminal underworld has been suffering lately, and really rather needs a new black market on which to thrive.

I truly think that, within a couple of years of cigarettes being banned, people wouldn't want to smoke tobacco any more - some might even have forgotten what it is. This has been shown clearly to work with marijuana and heroin, so I think it's time to try it with cigarettes. Maybe after that we can try alcohol - it worked last time!

haha, don't worry all Massy satirizing aside you didn't do too bad, though i can't say how successful the topic will be. Personally i think everyone knows the facts by now, and the affects of cigarrettes and tobacco products, and if you wanna shorten your life span, more power to you. It makes no sense to illegalize it, it would be a disaster, not quite as bad as prohibition but close.

Thanks Pimp and Massy. I don't know if I did a good job writing the topic but by the reply by Pimp ( Cause he's the mod here ) we won't know how this topic will turn out. If it gets closed oh well at least I gave it a try.

In a perfect world they should be illegal. However, in this real world, it would be a waste of money to enforce the law and to prevent cigarette smuggling. It's already a waste of money to do so for most drugs, so why add another one to the list, one that's even more popular? The money needs to be spent on things that are more important.

I don't smoke. But 2 of my family members do and I tried to convince them to kick the habit 1 of my family members is my dad he already kick the habit but my other family member has not I tried to convince that family member but it's no use she quits and then like a week starts smoking again I told her that if she did not quit she was going to die of smoking but still no use it's because of those d*** cigarretes they are too easy to get hooked on that's 1 of the reasons why I made this topic.

INFECT-TRUTH is actually full of half truths and lies, if you just keep your eye out for them.

Let people do what they want to do. If I want to load up on steaks and such, who are you to stop me? If I want to destroy my liver with alcohol or my kidneys with soda, who are you to stop me? If I want to destroy my lungs with cigarettes, who are you to stop me?
