For those who don't remember, Chronicle was a list of all Nintendo licensed games categorized by console and release date. This was found in Brawl's Vault section.

It wasn't much but I thought it was a cool addition. It was cool to see all of the Nintendo games. I could even see games I've missed!

Do you want Chronicle to return? If so, what would you do to improve it?

Most definetely yes.

I think it would be nice to include a list of Nintendo licensed games on past consoles once again. Though it could certainly be improved a bit.

Heck yes!

There is, quite literally, NO REASON to not include it! Seriously, how in the world could anyone hate it?

I remember that from Brawl, and I love it! I hope they make it again, a more updated one. Good history and memories. It has my support. <3

Honestly I thought it was a fun way to celebrate Nintendo's history as a company, was also fun in and of itself to complete.

Would love to see it expand to include Japanese only games or even games that guest characters have appeared in on Nintendo consoles.

I answered negative. I do not want them to spend time on small stuff like this. The Chronicle itself wouldn't take too much time; however, all of the content accumulates. I just want a great roster with great maps with great balance. I could care less about Stickers, Trophies, Chronicle, Music Settings, anything that wastes development time.

Meh. I wouldn't mind it seeing it making a return, but it wasn't something that I was crazy over.

It's not like it takes a lot of development time to implement, so why not? It's cool feature that fits Smash, by listing the many Nintendo games. It also lets you have a perception of how old a character is, for example. Good for curious people.

They should do a few things differently from Brawl, by having the release years for regions like Japan, North America and the PAL regions (Europe/Australia). Unreleased games in certain regions would be labelled as such.

It was a one time thing that I completely forgot about until this thread. No for me, I don't even know why they developed that in the first place.

I don't know. I have an internet connection. I can search it up if I am curious. I don't need to boot up Smash 4 to find such information.

Personally, since I'm interested in finding out Nintendo's complete catalogue, I found the Chronicle quite interesting, but I can see how others wouldn't care about it in the least and would find it fairly superfluous. So I'd like to see it return, but only if it doesn't take time away from the development of more important aspects of the game. And perhaps it could include pictures of the games or something just so it would be a bit more visually interesting.

I was sad none of the Rare IPs were in the catalogue, even though I knew they wouldn't be. It's like Microsoft is erasing Nintendo's history. :(

Maybe they could have a way to file them by year, franchise, system or even sales!

Not only does smash provide a unique fighting game experience with the best cast of character's in the history of ever, but it doubles as a sort of history book of the nintendo universe.
After beating the game 100%, you have an encyclopedia of nintendinfo with the Chronicle listing all of Nintendo's published games, Trophies giving details about the cast in the games and stickers showin off the original sprite work.
It would be cool if the trophies contained fun facts about the characters.
"When we made this character for Kirby 3, we originally intended for him to be a hidden boss."
or something like that.

If anything, the Chronicle should add non-nintendo games as well. RARE SEGA and CAPCOM specifically.

I think an expanded Chronicle would be great. And I have another suggestion as well...

I was recently at the Art of Video Games exhibit and they had short one minute videos showing gameplay with a narration over it. I think this could greatly benefit the Chronicle and take the place of Masterpieces as well. It would benefit not just the classics like Super Mario Bros., but also the more obscure titles in Nintendo's library.

One thing I wish they could do with Chronicles is showing off the boxart and the boxart is in 3D so you can move it all around as you like as if it was a Trophy.

They should have pictures of the game boxes if they do bring it back. That was something I liked about the Ultimate Genesis Collection on PS360.

I thought Chronicle was cool, but if it cuts into development time that could be done for something else, I'm against it.

But it was definitely cool to play Kid Icarus for a while.

I don't think the chronicle is something that's important I might have played the games it offered once and only once I wouldn't lose an ounce of sleep if they cut it from the game.

Um, I think you guys might be confusing the Chronicle for Masterpieces. The Chronicle was a list of a vast majority of the games Nintendo has ever released and sorted by game system and release date. The Masterpieces were those Virtual Console demos that you could play. And I agree that the Masterpieces seem unnecessary. Even more so now that we have Nintendo eShop.

You are correct sir. I am indeed confusing the two now that I think on it but, I'll stand by my original thought that both are unnecessary. Because now realizing what the chronicle is I'll still make a similar statement that I might have looked at it once and though huh that's cool but I haven't looked at it since.

Ah, okay. I was wondering why people were talking about how it was nice to look back at Nintendo's history and that jumbo. Now I feel a little silly.

Well, I guess to add to that now, I never really checked that out so I have no opinion. It's cool, I guess, it'll be updated too.

I'd like it if it was easier to complete. I still don't have that 1 sticker that would finish it xP

Meh. The Chronicle was the most underwhleming of all the Vault collectables. There's really no discreet way to work at unlocking the list either. An expanded one would be a great improvement though.

If there's one thing the Chronicle was worth, it was a chronology of Nintendo published games. This list can be utilized as a good reference source for fanfic writers.

Yes to Chronicle. It would literally take up no disk space compared to other things.

Plus it fits the entire theme of "CELEBRATING NINTENDO HISTORY!"

Personally, I want the Chronicle to be back. When you think about it, its importance radiates in the fact that it is the only official list of videogames published by Nintendo ever recognized by the company itself, which I find very interesting.
