Choose Your Pikmin wisely!

The technique i'm talking about deals with the jump heights of the pikmin when you pluck them. Now, my olimar is not good at all seeing as how i don't really use him, but if someone was to master the strategy that i use.. well i'd like to see how that works out. hope you guys enjoy the vids

I've seen this before, how if you stand a certian distance from the edge you only get purple and white, or even just white if you are at the perfect distance. The only time I've ever used this is in teams to get all whites. If it comes down to a 2v1 situation, I'll let my teammate handle whoever is left, and I'll stand at the edge of the stage and get 3 or 4 white pikmin (or 6 if we are winning by a lot and I'm feeling nasty) and then my teammate will grab our opponent, and I'll latch all the whites.

I watched your first video. Other than the aformentioned situation, I actually don't see this being overly useful. In the video, the G&W player didn't really pressure you very well and so you had plenty of time to try to get your purple-white lineup. I just prefer to work with the lineup I have. Besides, red yellow and blue pikmin all have their advantages too (aerials, hitboxes, bthrow respectively).

I only do this if I really need a purple/white to KO (mind you I use only 2 pikmin at a time) so I find it useful.

Hit them off-stage and if they go far enough go and get a purple for an usmash ko, or a white one to bait them close.
