Charged Shot worse, but UNCHARGED Shot better?

This is the feeling I get from using Samus's neutral b, that when used uncharged it fires faster than in Melee, and just overall seems better than the uncharged shot from Melee.

I was never much of a Samus player so I can't say for certain, so I want to know if it's just my imagination or not.

Do her charged shots actually stop pits arrows? I play against an arrow spamming pit and when i try to use her uncharged shot, the arrows eventually hit me. I think pit can shoot faster than samus. I guess i can just get out of the way, but her shots end up losing in my experience.

They do, but the real solution is to just stop playing arrow spammers. There's no learning experience in it for you and good Pits don't arrow spam very much. Even if you spam charged shot, eventually an arrow will you hit you. It's inevitable cause they come out faster and Pit has less lag. Three uncharged shots followed by a super missile/repeat works great to annoy the hell out of a TL and discourage him from spamming though.

As for Pit just sh over the arrows when they get close and zair him, or ad and zair cancel it, either works. That only works good on Battlefield/Lylat Cruise/Yoshi's Island though. Harder on FD/Smashville. His down b>zair however and it can be an issue if he has good timing. Unless, and this is tricky, but due to zair's weird hitbox you can make it go just over the shield and hit the small part of his head that sticks out above it.

As for uncharged shot, it works best against Marth/Ike/TL. I usually don't even hold a charged shot against those 3 cept maybe Marth sometimes. It's great as a major annoyance/to screw up an approach/counter projectile spamming somwhat. That's really it.

To counter pit's arrows, sh and immediately airdodge (hold down the shield button), once the arrow is past you, press A. This lets you use your zair at the best opportunity. It doesn't matter if you miss, it has no lag anyways. Repeat.

Full hop, homing missle land with an airdodge. <-- this may work in conjunction with the above strat.
