Smash Apprentice
I'd like to pick up one of the more relentlessly aggressive characters just to whet that interest. Which are the characters that can fit that description the most?

This.Fox/falco/wolf/Lucas come to mind most immediately
You. You get a cookie.Roy can be very rushdown orientated as well.
But I don't play him like that.You. You get a cookie.

Agreed. I'm aggressive with peach myselfJust about any character can be played very aggressively; the strategies with which they use to maintain that aggressive gameplay may differ from that of what's usually associated with aggressive (e.g. Spacie rushdown), but so long as you're willing to commit to the playstyle and have the tech-skill and know-how to support it, you can be a character that's slow-as-heck like M2 and still bust out some crazy-*** combos.
Luigi is the master of Mind games and Chases, but as rush down, I have never really seen him do that.Have you seen Luigi? His movement options, recovery, speed, and combos are all nuts. He's awesome.
I don't think it works like that. Luigi is completely sluggish in the air. Most rushdown characters have excellent movement in the air and on the ground (Fox can mitigate his sluggish air speed by getting momentum from a dash cancelled jump). If I am correct, wavedashes do not give jump momentum. Luigi only has good ground movement. His air abilities are lacking. Even his SHFFL is mediocre. Rush downs (Falco, Wolf, Lucas, Fox, Falcon, Zero Suit Samus arguably Marth and Roy, Mewtwo to an extent, Lucario, Meta Knight, etc) are highly mobile, fast characters able to apply insane shield pressure, and are usually on the more technical side of characters. Luigi's best tech is the most basic tech in the game. Wavedash. Yes he has tools to do some CRAZY stuff, but his main bread and butter is wavedash, like how SHFFL nair is to Fox.Luigi's speed makes Sonic look slow if you have the technical ability to play him like that...and I can tell you it will take a LOT of practice before that comes second nature to you. If played right with all the techs that are available to him at this moment, he basically has the ability to play the best footies game out of all the characters and has potential touch of death combos that will remind you of Mavel vs. Capcom. In turn though, your recovery will be predictable and getting hit by any strong attack will make you slide off stage. He can be rush down, depending on the matchups and percents.
Really? How so?hilariously, zelda
low startup, uncrouchable, disjointed, nearly lagless, SDI-proof, nearly unpunishable on block, lingering hitbox moves, good shield game, good shield, good combo weight, multiple launcher conversions, zelda clearly encourages heavy micro interaction any way you look at it. letting the opponent choose the match tempo means you'll get stuck with her crappy macro game so... better to go in hard!Really? How so?
Her fair is falcon's knee, but for girls.Really? How so?
False. It kills 20% earlier than Falcon's Knee. It's stupid. Her fair is falcon's knee, but for girls.
Comes out quicker, more range... All around better move.
Mk4Rush
Lol. I just made a statement. You're the one who started the conversation.I think we've had this conversation before. Falcon can put his knee in a lot more places and a lot quicker than Zelda can, with her floatiness, meh ground speed and crap SHFFL.
Not disagreeing with the overall point that Zelda can rushdown, though. I've seen KDJ and Zhime do just that.
Yup, squirtle's movement options allow incredible punishes and relentless attacks while sliding away to safety. It's not easy to do, but he is incredibly successful as an aggressive characterIf you want to off the beaten path a bit, try Squirtle.
