i decided that this should get it's own thread since it's more specifically aimed at the character roles and character chances
it's not a place to talk about every little detail in the pics and movie but a place to connect characters individual stroryline and how it can be mixed together
the subspace emissary is the new adventure mode for brawl that is very deep
sakurai also said "he Adventure mode also emphasizes character development. You’ll see many famous characters persevering under the weight of their personal histories, shouldering their unique burdens... It’s really something you won’t see anywhere else."
now how will the characters fit in this story using their individual personality and their background
also if the adventure includes all characters (also unlockables) will the story affect the character list seeing that some characters can bring more depth to the story
it's hard to see retro characters like balloon fighter make an impact and third party will have a hard time too
so character chances can be debated also

here are the confirmed characters and what we know about them
mario: fights kirby in stadium, gets attacked by the "smashbots"
is connected with kirby, peach, and zelda for at least the beginning of the story
own series: shown as a courageous and simple hero with a history of a lot of villains also brought minions like bullet bill and hammer bros,
kirby: is connected with mario, zelda, and peach (see mario),
own series: more of a comical but brave nonetheless hero has many rivals but his true villain is the many incarnations of nightmare/dark matter
zelda: was watching the mario kirby fight in some way (spectating, waiting for own match, etc) intervenes in fight
own series: wise and magical princess with a connection to the gods and sages
peach: (see zelda)
own series: started as damsel in distress and grown into a heroine
pit: sees and probably speaks with paletuna at some time (if you notice he has no bow so my guess is this is opening scene of him getting the bow)
own series: a hero doing services of the gods
metaknight: his ship is the main foe so far but is seen fighting monsters bringing some confusion and debate
own series: kirby's RIVAL that deeply cares about his world, has lots of honor and pride, history of being brainwashed by villains to do bad thiniking it's for the greater good
link: was with yoshi when he saw the heliberd somewhere in a desert
own series: symbol of the quiet, brave hero
yoshi: (see link)
own series: pretty much the playful goddy two shoes, with a deep friendship with mario
fox: heliberd fires his arwing, screenshots show him in a jungle for at least one part of the story
own series: leader of a galactic group of mercenaries/heroes, rival includes wolf, and enemies include andross, father's death can be used in some way
samus/zamus: seen watching videos/ screens of some sort (probably in her ship), also seemed to be one of the first to enter/get near one of (or main) enemy base
own series: is a legendary bounty hunter that has foiled the space pirates numerous times,
orphaned at a young age, very strong and courageous

wario: is more of an antihero, despises mario, supposebely very rich, greedy

bowser: main reoccuring villain from mario series, has a crush on peach, has helped mario when a different villain threatens his position (also knows that he can't rule a dextroyed world), minions aren't in his full command, even the loyal ones have been brainwashed at least once
donkey kong: wants to live a quiet life in the jungle, has a large family that can be targeted, main enemy is k rool, is a hero but not the cliche kind because he only does stuff relating to him and his family
