Characters Running Extremely Fast

I was surprised to see Link run across the entirety of Battlefield in a couple seconds. Not sure if the speed of the game was sped up or that the characters are naturally faster but there are 2 solid examples. I thought Link wavedashed at first but going back to it he just ran extremely fast for a heavier character in smash.

Palutena can also apparently keep up with Sonic's running speed, but I believe she was using some kind of technique: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GisRY6h100U#t=2721

What do you guys think is making these characters move so fast?

It's the Amiibo's. The more you fight with an Amiibo'd character, the more experience the character gets, and they will get stronger and faster and whatnot. It improves their abilities.
