I believe all Sakurai said is that some clones will probably be removed. He never specified on which characters.
Dr. Mario is the most likely to be removed, though. (Him and Pichu.)

wut from FE or w/e. cuz from FE ive only played sacred stones and PoR. but for w/e...sonic would be my first choice next ww link. but truthfully (srry for his fans here) i dont think megaman would make it. hes more of a capcom vs marvel person. but then snake was a third party from some other game but Sakurai was asked to put in snake so there. argue if u wish.

Another thread where everyone is misinformed on what Sakurai has said. Sakurai merely stated that not all characters from melee will be returning.
A fake story from about 2 years ago that was later used as the source for a more recent "update" on a different site claimed to name 3 characters that were cut and 3 new ones, which is probably what some of you were thinking of.

I'm getting worried though. With the apperence of Animal Crossing Items and Stages, I'm starting to think K.K. Slider or Tom Nook might actually be playable characters. The evidence is mounting people, the franchise is coming to an end! Learn your final smashes! Unlock the characters! Lock in your mortgage rates.

There is no evidence of an Animal Crossing character. There's only evidence that Sakurai is representing the Animal Crossing series. Seeing as there's a stage and an item, it's plausible to think that that's how Sakurai will represent the series, with items and a stage.

well yea but...see Yoshis stage came in b4 him (with Yoshi egg symbol). then yoshi came in. Animal crossing has its own symbol. dr wright is from his own game but has the smash symbol. im basing evidence on the symbols but its still evidince
