I'm thinking that the makers of Brawl should put somekind of expansion pack to keep up with the characters from future nintendo games. I can't really explain what i'm trying to say in words. a little help.

You mean, like what they did with Halo 2 sort of, Like the mappack? Get out of here, the wii's hard drive and memory cards can't handle that kind of stuff. Maybe once, but multiple times? Forget it.

Nintedo is a smart company they can think up something. Anyways they can come up with something different, and I will tell you as soon as I think up one.

Sorry for the double post.

What if they just put in characters from upcoming games in with the regular characters, like what was done with Roy?

Roy was on the Super Famicom Fire Emblem. I'm talking about how a Nintedo game would come out after the release of Brawl. I'm saying that it would be neat to have that future Character on Brawl somehow.

Like what an external hard drive? A peripheral Flash Drive attachment? I don't think so. Sure starting next year you can download games like the ones in XBOX Live Arcade to your wii, but as far as wii game updates and stuff, those things COULD NEVER be saved to a memory card. Let alone, a number of the Virtual Console games SNES and beyond could not be saved on typical wii memory cards. The wii's hard drive is limited, and unfortunately I don't see a wii elite aka wiilite on the horizon any time soon.

And lose a character from your roster? What? No way man, what does that do to competitive play if rosters on the game's memory are all different from each other. It was a good idea though.

I wouldn't mind a future release stage/MAYBE a character.
They did it with some trophies in Melee.

That would mess with the memory if you download wouldn't it. Unless you download updates, overight save data with updates, and the delete the download to save space. Does that make any sense.

Is it really that unlikely that Nintendo is going to release an external USB HDD for the Wii? I once thought it to be a great and probable idea.

Well not considering the Wii's ability to store data.

It would be an alright idea, new costume(s), or bug fixes and updates. Annually nothing to use up too much room but enough to make it fair and interesting?

I had no idea I gave off the vibe that I was nintendo of japan employee o_0.

I just don't see nintendo doing the external hard drive with the wii. They take baby steps with their next generation consoles. With the cube it was going from cartridges to games discs. With the wii it was going online. I don't see the N going in the hard drive direction with the wii. Perhaps something they'd do for the next system. Plus, where the hell is that thing going to connect on the wii? through a memory card port? After scrapping Nintendo 64 Disk Drive, I don't see nintendo trying to do an external hard drive again. It's usually common sense in the retail world if a product fails that companies don't try to make the product again. A wii external memory hard drive is they N64 Disk Drive all over again, and if history repeats itself, and it does, the result will once again be mass disappointment. I don't want to see that happen, many others wouldn't want to be disappointed, and I'm sure nintendo doesn't want to disappoint anyone while riding their current wave of fiscal success.

And with that I will return to Miyamoto with my proposal why the external hard drive blows.

trading charecters is a HORRIBLE idea, so is creating ure own as my friend once suggested >.>, downloadable ones seem very cool but it would screw up the game. Everything would have to be edited to make room for the charecter and eventualy u will run out of space on the starting screen.
