Characters being revealed: all, or just one left?

taking a look at the dojo site, there seems to have been a pattern.

when the ice Climbers were revealed, that filled the last gap on the third line on the veteran section. that made an even three lines of four characters on the list. now, taking a look at the newcomers, there is one spot left before both sections become equal in amount.

now this raises a problem.

will Sakurai stop at this last character, or will he equal the sides out before continuing to reveal the characters

and then, there's another problem

it's been three weeks since the last character update. three weeks. this mean Sakurai might be building up to something big.

who will be revealed? will they be third party? will this be the final character to be revealed, or are more to come?

It's more than likely that there are over a dozen, maybe two dozen more to come. They haven't confirmed Capt. Falcon, Luigi, Marth, etc. There's no way that we'd have one character less than the prequel.

I'm of the opinion that they've only released the characters who won't be unlockable. there are undoubtedly many more that won't be revealed. I do agree that there will probably be one more revealed though to finish the row.

That's a good question, right now he seems to be getting all of the E4All updates out of the way.

I'm guessing they'll confirm the last newcomber (so their are 12 necombers and 12 veterans) weather you begin them or not. it will be the last update. And I'm guessing an Animal Crossing newcomber.

Actually he did say that he'll reveal all of the characters, he just didn't say when. I'm thinking he might not reveal most of the secrets until around the release OR he'll space out some of the secret characters in december and January and then release a burst of the rest right around the release date.

Well chances are snake and sonic are gonna be unlockable (because they are third party) so you might be able to remove those guys....

theres some japan mag that says they r gonna get the full roster, and reveal it on that date.

Didn't Sakurai reveal some secret characters already.. I thought he said third party characters would be unlockable like Sonic and Snake.

The December 15 thing will make it pointless, but you have to admit that it has a nice symmetry, especially with the drought of character profiles. Like he is spacing out, right? Yeah, Id say it could be another 3rd party character too to fill in the row...

Oh, and for anyone thinking that Snake and Sonic are starters, Sakurai said that unlockable status would be fitting for guest characters. Theres no reason that would change...

It means nothing. There was only one line to fill at the beginning and it expanded. And if that is true and that's the starting roster, I'm guessing they got rid of a ton of veterans.

The thing is that people need to stop thinking of the characters on the Dojo all as starters, because it is unlikely. Snake and Sonic are implied unlockable by Sakurai and Dedede OR Meta Knight have a good chance of being unlockable too...

well i'd like to see one more newcomer before sakurai decides to stop, if thats the case. i'd either like to see isaac from golden sun or megaman. personally, i hope to see megaman since hes almost as wanted as sonic and if sakurai did stop revealing characters, megaman would be the last one, but i hope for isaac later as well. and clones like falco, marth and others won't come back. i don't think sakurai would want to spend extra time making up clone characters and making their moveset and final smahses anyway. we should have different characters with unique movesets, not clones. i just hope that in the final game, there will be at least 60 characters, no less.

Meh, knowing Sakurai he probably just forgot to give us a character all these weeks. Seriously, I think he picks updates out of a hat and they put thought behind them when an event interferes with the updates(like Sonic being revealed at the Nintendo Event). We'll probably get 4-5 more before the game launches in Japan. Just a hunch.

Since all the obvious starters are already revealed, the next character will be exciting regardless, whether it's Captain Falcon, Luigi, Sheik, Ness(those last two would cause quite a commotion), or someone else. If it's a newcomer, it will obviously be a big deal, especially if it's someone with huge followings like Geno or Ridley. Saying that he's building up to something big is redundant, because every character update is huge. I think the only character nobody really cared about was Lucas, and that was until they revealed his special moves.

i think he goes back from the e for all updates to normal update he will continue with the general 1 character every 2 weeks pattern, i am PRAYING for olimar, krystal, ridley and now midna and POSSIBLY geno, but i need to be convinced with him and or it.

I think he'll reveal the entire roster before the Japanese release date, it's stupid to update after that date cause clearly everything will have been leaked worldwide by then.

What does the number of characters in each row have to do with how many more are being revealed? Just because there are four characters per row does not mean that once that last slow it filled that's it. I mean, they could have just made the page really wide and had them all on one row, or had a list, but they figured this design was better.

We will have more characters revealed after a long series of filler updates due to the delay. Expect some characters next month.

although 24 does seem like a pretty good starting character roster, mabye with the addition of capt. falcon and a newcomer, to bring the total to 26. That way there can be 14 secret/unlockable characters, the bring the total roster to a round 40.

Well, following 2 obvious patterns in rosters, I can see one of two things happening.

SSB64: 12
Melee: 24
Brawl: 36 or 48

Using 2 obvious patterns, +12 or x2, expect the total roster number to be one of the two. Coincidence? Possibly. Pancakes? Definitely.
